I headed to CVS tonight after dinner. There were some things from the sales flyer that I wanted to purchase. Unfortunately, CVS was out of a few things that I wanted to get but I will check back later in the week. I’m pleased with today’s deals.
Transaction 1:
heart shaped sticky notes reg $1, clearance $.49
Colgate toothpaste reg $3.29, sale $2.99
-get back $2 ECB with purchase
-used $1 coupon = FREE
scunci multi-pack reg $2.99, clearance $.74
subtotal = $3.22
received $2 ECB back from toothpaste
received $1 ECB back from CVS green tag (when you use a reusable bag you can have them scan your tag and get $1 for every 4 uses)
Transaction 2:
Allegra allergy medicine reg $7.29, $6.99
-get back $6.99 ECB = FREE
-use $2 coupon from 3/6 SS which makes this a $2 money maker
(You can also get a printable coupon here.)
-used $2 ECB from transaction 1
-used $1 ECB from transaction 1
-used $2 coupon for allegra
subtotal = $1.99
The regular price of all of these items is $14.57. I spent $5.22 out of pocket but received back $6.99 in ECBs which makes today’s purchase FREE plus an overage of $1.77.

I stopped in to CVS tonight mainly to pick up the free Crest toothpaste. While I was there I walked around the store a little to see if there were any more deals. Here’s what I found:
Transaction 1:
Crest Pro Health toothpaste reg $3.49, sale $3.29
Buy 1 for $3.29 get back $3.29 in ECBs = FREE (limit 2)
Used $1 off coupon from 2/27/11 P&G
FREE plus $1 overage
Transaction 2:
Stay Free maxis $4.19 reg, $2.51 close out
Used buy 1 get 1 free coupon from 1/9/11 SS
Final price = $2.51 for 2
Depend for Women $7.29 reg, $1.82 close out
FYI – These aren’t for me. ![]()
I was disappointed that I could not find a coupon for the Depends. After leaving the store I discovered that there was a $2 coupon in the 12/20/11 SmartSource coupon packet which would make them free.
Total = $1.04
My total for both transactions was $3.33 for a savings of 83%. The great thing about shopping with coupons and saving so much money is that I am able to help others and pass on the savings.
Did you find any good deals this week?
Today’s CVS Deals ~ December 31, 2010

During my trip to CVS earlier this week I was able to use some CVS Extra Care Bucks before they expired. I also got back $8 in ECBs which I used today for some other deals.
In today’s transaction, I spent 39 cents (pre-tax), saved over $36, and got back another $5 in ECBs. It was a great shopping trip.
Today’s transactions:
3 Organic Honest Tea, regular $1.79 each
sale $1 each, purchase 3 and get back $1 ECB
used 3 $.50 coupons
final price after coupons and ECB = 3 for $.50 ($.17 each)
4 Vitamin Waters, regular $1.69 each
sale $1 each, purchase 3 and get back $1 ECB
used 2 buy 1 get 1 free coupons
final price after coupons and ECB = 4 for $1 ($.25 each)
Tone Body Wash, regular $5.49
sale $3.88, purchase 1 and get back $3 ECB
used $1 coupon
final price after coupon and ECB= FREE plus 12 cent money maker
Axe Body Wash, regular $4.99 each
sale $2.49 (close out)
used RP buy 1 get 1 free coupon
final price = $1.25 each
Oil of Olay multi-pack of soap, regular $6.49
sale $3.24 (close out)
used RP $2 coupon
final price = $1.24
M&Ms and Snickers, regular $.89
buy 2 get 1 free
When I was getting my coupons ready for another CVS today, I received a coupon in my inbox for $4 off a $20 purchase. I was super excited about that.
I got all of the items listed above (except the candy bars) and when I got to the register I thought I had a subtotal of over $20 (I think the tea sale tag was wrong on the shelf). Since I didn’t have $20 total, I had to grab something quick that wasn’t too expensive so I grabbed the candy bars. That was totally unexpected and something I didn’t need to purchase. Had I known in advance I would have purchased something more beneficial.
Today I had $14.49 in coupons and I used $8 ECBs from my trip earlier this week. My pretax total was $.39 and I received $5 in ECBs to use later.
Have you had any successful shopping trips this week?
This Week’s CVS Trip

I know that some of you are very loyal shoppers of Walgreen, CVS, etc. I do not shop these stores each week because some weeks the deals aren’t great and other weeks the sales are for items I don’t need. The past two weeks I have decided to take advantage of the CVS offers and here’s what I purchased this week.
Transaction 1:
2 Huggies Pull-Ups reg $11.99 each, sale $8.99
*receive $5 ECBs back with purchase of 2 packs
I used two $2 coupons from the Pull-Ups website. (When I hit the back button, it printed two coupons.)
Also used $6 ECBs left over from last week’s Easy Up deal.
OOP=$7.98 plus received $5 ECBs
Transaction 2:
3 12 pk Coca-Cola products reg $5.49, $3/10 (3 day sale)
I used the $5 ECBs from transaction 1, spent $5 OOP, and got back $3 ECBs.
Transaction 3:
Lindt chocolate truffles reg $4.29, $3 sale
Accu-Check Aviva diabetes monitor reg $19.99, $9.99 sale
I used a $1 coupon for Lindt truffles, a $5 coupon from this week’s Sunday paper for the diabetes monitor. Also, I used the $3 ECB from transaction 2. My OOP was $3.99.
For all three transactions I spent $16.97 and saved $47.76 for a savings of 65%.
Have you shopped at CVS this week? Which bargains did you get?
