Definitely. I am thrifty but also a bit of a tightwad. It is hard for me to justify spending loads of money on things when I know I can get them cheaper. We just moved into our new house a few months ago. We are gradually getting things like we want them. It is a gradual process. We live in a time when people want things now. And that is a whole other conversation on the burden of debt.

I need to work on landscaping too. Our neighbors and some friends and family have offered to let us dig up bulbs and plants that have multiplied. This will surely save us a lot of money. This week I have been eyeing my neighbor's lilies. :)

Hi Karen,

I like your post! I believe that when one makes a decision to be frugal, the creativity kicks in, and frugality becomes a way of life. It's fun and rewarding at the same time. How nice it is for me to realize this just by reading your post. Thank you :)

As for other things or tips, for outdoor decor - I have started a lot of flowers from seed. It's so rewarding. Indoor, i've done Craigslist, yard sales and thrift stores. I've borrowed - haven't painted. oh, for wall art, there are these stick ons.

I have a couple. Plain yogurt applied to vaginal area for yeast infections. Have done this several times and it works great. Also, onion juice for ear aches. Drop several drops into ear for pain. Have also used this for my daughter and her swimmer ear.

Karen,
I was just about to give up and toss two of these bags away when I saw your post. I realized they'd be perfect for organizing photography props around a specific theme, like baby's first Christmas or what have you, and keeping them nice and clean. Thanks for the tip!

Last summer I found a huge section of sleepers and pjs for 1$. I stocked up for the winter and wished i would of stocked up with 24 month since now this year we are looking around for good deals for pjs this year. When I get family or friends babyshower gifts I try to find gifts of the sale rack for when the baby is a little older. It saves money and I'm able to help help the parents. Though I love yardsales more then Wal-Mart.
