It’s triple coupon week at Harris Teeter.  I have already made two trips this week and I have saved over $130.  I don’t have as many coupons as usual so I’ll probably only shop one more time.

You can use 20 coupons per day and Harris Teeter will triple coupons with a face value of up to $.99.  This means if you have a $.75 coupon it will triple to $2.25!  The coupon must not say “do not double” or something like that on it.  Buy 1 get 1 free items ring up half price so you can use one coupon per item.  For more details on coupons rules check out Harris Teeter’s coupon policy.

I finally made it to Harris Teeter today for the super double coupon sale. My coupons were so unorganized. It took me a while today to get them in order.  I’m trying to catch up on my regular duties now that school is out.

Thankfully, the checkout process went well.  I only had to take one thing off of my order because the coupon said it couldn’t be doubled. I thought I had checked all of the coupons but I must have missed that one. I was so glad that the rules hadn’t changed again and that they were consistent. I did not feel like arguing today.

Harris Teeter has more unadvertised specials this weekend.  These specials are only available to eVIC members.  If you are not an eVIC member be sure to go to the Harris Teeter website and sign up.  Unfortunately, if you sign up now you won’t get this week’s sales but you should be able to get next week’s deals.

There are two items in the unadvertised specials.  There have been some issues with some HT stores not knowing about the sales and the items ringing up the wrong price so you may want to print this out or have it easily available for them to see on your phone.

I’m not going to spoil their ad but I will tell you to check the Red Plum insert from April 10 for even more savings.  This should make the item only $.25 each which is huge savings!

If you’re a reader here then you know that I get most of my bargains during Harris Teeter’s super double coupon week.  I shop several times during the week to stock my cabinets and refrigerator with inexpensive and free items.  These really help to stretch our food budget.

It’s super double coupon time again.  The sale starts today and ends Tuesday, May 3, 2011.  During this sale coupons with a face value of up to $1.98 will be doubled and up to 20 coupons will be doubled each day.

If you’re new to this it basically means that a coupon for $1.50 will double to $3 off.  Harris Teeter will not give you more than the price of the item.  So if a product is $1.79 and you have a double coupon, you will get the initial $1 and it will double to $.79 which makes the product free.  Let me know if you have any questions.

The Harris Teeter super double coupon sale just ended yesterday and I am very pleased with my purchases. I was able to stock up on yogurt, frozen foods, cereal, gum, canned vegetables, trash bags, and more. I was able to get some easy meal items to use on busy nights when I am working late or just in need of something simple. These types of items are usually more expensive and so I normally do not purchase them. It was also nice to pick up a few splurge items.

Unfortunately, I was not able to blog about each individual trip but I did post some of my savings throughout the week along with the coupon match-ups for those items. I just finished totaling up my totals for the week. Here’s the summary:

I think I did pretty well, especially since this includes items I got on sale for which I did not have coupons. It was a busy week but I know during the coupon sale weeks that if I put forth the extra efforts it will pay off later with a lower grocery budget. It is also nice to plan our meals using what we have at home and only supplementing with milk, bread, produce, and a few other items.
