Today’s CVS Savings (83% Savings)
I stopped in to CVS tonight mainly to pick up the free Crest toothpaste. While I was there I walked around the store a little to see if there were any more deals. Here’s what I found:

I was disappointed that I could not find a coupon for the Depends. After leaving the store I discovered that there was a $2 coupon in the 12/20/11 SmartSource coupon packet which would make them free.
Total = $1.04
My total for both transactions was $3.33 for a savings of 83%. The great thing about shopping with coupons and saving so much money is that I am able to help others and pass on the savings.

Today’s CVS Deals ~ December 31, 2010
During my trip to CVS earlier this week I was able to use some CVS Extra Care Bucks before they expired. I also got back $8 in ECBs which I used today for some other deals.
In today’s transaction, I spent 39 cents (pre-tax), saved over $36, and got back another $5 in ECBs. It was a great shopping trip.

When I was getting my coupons ready for another CVS today, I received a coupon in my inbox for $4 off a $20 purchase. I was super excited about that.
I got all of the items listed above (except the candy bars) and when I got to the register I thought I had a subtotal of over $20 (I think the tea sale tag was wrong on the shelf). Since I didn’t have $20 total, I had to grab something quick that wasn’t too expensive so I grabbed the candy bars. That was totally unexpected and something I didn’t need to purchase. Had I known in advance I would have purchased something more beneficial.
Today I had $14.49 in coupons and I used $8 ECBs from my trip earlier this week. My pretax total was $.39 and I received $5 in ECBs to use later.

Food Lion Deals 10/3/10
Tonight I had to run out to return a Redbox dvd and decided to go into Food Lion for a few minutes. I wanted to see if they had restocked the Kraft cheese since I had another $5 coupon to use before Tuesday.
I ended up with 5 Kraft cheese, 13 boxes Ronzoni pasta, and 2 boxes of Uncle Ben’s rice for only $4.68. Here’s how I saved $27.84:
5 Kraft cheese, buy 1 get 1 free
-used $5 printable coupon
10 Ronzoni pasta (blue box), buy 1 get 1 free
-used five $1 off 2 (from in-store blinkie machine)
3 Ronzoni garden pasta, sale $1/box
-used three $.50 box peelies
2 Uncle Ben’s rice, sale $1.19/box
-used two $1 (from in-store blinkie machines)
I was pleased with the deals from a random store trip. We don’t eat much pasta in our house, so I will use some of the spaghetti noodles for the food drive and I will save the rotini noodles for pasta salad.

This Week’s CVS Trip
I know that some of you are very loyal shoppers of Walgreen, CVS, etc. I do not shop these stores each week because some weeks the deals aren’t great and other weeks the sales are for items I don’t need. The past two weeks I have decided to take advantage of the CVS offers and here’s what I purchased this week.
Transaction 1:
2 Huggies Pull-Ups reg $11.99 each, sale $8.99
*receive $5 ECBs back with purchase of 2 packs
I used two $2 coupons from the Pull-Ups website. (When I hit the back button, it printed two coupons.)
Also used $6 ECBs left over from last week’s Easy Up deal.
OOP=$7.98 plus received $5 ECBs
Transaction 2:
3 12 pk Coca-Cola products reg $5.49, $3/10 (3 day sale)
I used the $5 ECBs from transaction 1, spent $5 OOP, and got back $3 ECBs.
Transaction 3:
Lindt chocolate truffles reg $4.29, $3 sale
Accu-Check Aviva diabetes monitor reg $19.99, $9.99 sale
I used a $1 coupon for Lindt truffles, a $5 coupon from this week’s Sunday paper for the diabetes monitor. Also, I used the $3 ECB from transaction 2. My OOP was $3.99.
For all three transactions I spent $16.97 and saved $47.76 for a savings of 65%.
